Jalandhar/Kapurthala/Bathinda () The Officers, faculty & staff of I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University are feeling proud with the appointment of newly appointed Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Buta Singh Sidhu in Maharaja Ranjit Singh State Technical University (MRSTU) of Bathinda. Prof. (Dr.) Buta Singh Sidhu has also served as Dean Academic for a long time in I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University.
Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Kumar Sharma, Vice Chancellor of I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University also expressed great gesture over Dr. Buta Singh’s appointment as Vice Chancellor in Bathinda University. Sending a congratulatory message on behalf of the university, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Kumar Sharma said that it is a matter of pride for IKGPTU that Dr. Buta Singh has become the Vice Chancellor of Bathinda University.
He said that Dr. Buta Singh Sidhu’s appointment is like as an educational institute feels proud when their student has got best placement in a prestigious place, in the same way, it is gratifying that the senior staff of the institute to be appointed to operate and manage in other big institutions. Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Sharma congratulated the entire IKGPTU family. He also feels proud that he himself and Dr Buta Singh Sidhu both are the alumni of same institution i.e Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College Ludhiana.
On this occasion, on behalf of the University Academic Department, Dean Academic Prof. (Dr.) Vikas Chawla said that the appointment of Dr. Buta Singh Sidhu, who was the Dean in IKGPTU, as the Vice Chancellor in Bathinda, has helped the technical education of the state. He said with this appointment a new era will start to promote quality education in the state. He shared that Dr. Buta Singh Sidhu was Dean Academic in IKGPTU from March 2010 to October 2016. During this period Dr. Sidhu took many remarkable decisions in academic department, which not only strengthened the academics of the university but also gained the fame of the university in the country as well as developed countries.
He said that both the technical universities of the state will benefit from his appointment and in future both the universities will work together in the interest of academic competence of state.
